The Infrastructure

The entire campus is beautifully designed and one can realize this only after visiting Maitraban. A barren land with ups & downs and with a strata of hard murrum throughout has been thoughtfully converted into a charming and peaceful residential township. All cottages and entire area is connected by non slippery pathways. A beautifully designed and well maintained landscaped garden adds to the beauty & glamour of the area.

Maitraban has independent cottages. It is thought that senior citizens are not comfortable if they have common living arrangements, and hence while designing Maitraban, this particular fact was kept in mind and accordingly there are independent cottages for one person & two persons (couple). Presently 16 cottages of double occupancy and 12 cottages of single occupancy are in use. Each individual cottage-
* Has a compound wall, with reasonable open space around cottage, gate, good approach, facility
* For gardening etc.
* Is fully furnished with bed, mattresses, pillow, linen, chairs, center table, wardrobe, zoola, colour T.V., fridge etc
* Gets 24 hours hot water in bathroom from solar water heater.
* Has a loft tank installed for cold water.
* Is connected to common septic tank.
* Can get Tata Sky connection for T.V.on demand.

The entire area of Maitraban is properly lighted and fenced with chainlink fencing & has proper security arrangements.

Other Facilities

In addition to the cottages the campus of Maitraban has
* An all purpose hall in the form of an auditorium where 60 persons can comfortably perform
* Yoga exercise or 150 chairs can be accommodated.
* A spacious dining hall accommodating 25 dining tables (4 persons on each table), where residents dine together.
* A well equipped library exclusively for residents.
* An independent residential accommodation for working staff.

Gandhe Jeewanchhaya Sanstha is committed to give best possible services to all residents of Maitraban. The approach of creating and running of Maitraban is totally non commercial, which can be ascertained by visiting Maitraban.The staff is very courteous & is carefully chosen & groomed. The quality of food can be judged by testing the same any time. The entire premises are fully secured and nobody can enter the area without prior permission. The following services are also provided free of cost.
* Various daily newspapers of Nagpur in Marathi, Hindi & English are available.
* A weekly visit by doctor for overall health checkup.
* Food served in the cottage for those who cannot come upto dining hall.
* Miscellaneous purchases of any day to day requirements as medicines, toiletries etc done on request.
* Anybody falling sick brought to Nagpur to the doctor of their choice.
